Alex has a classroom pet at preschool, Star the Guinea Pig, who got to spend the weekend before Thanksgiving with us. Alex has been begging to have Star visit for months so once it finally happend she was thrilled! Star was loved and played with almost every waking minute by both Alex and Rory. Alex loved to cuddle and hug Star, where Rory just preferred to pet him. Star will be coming back to our house for a second visit next week, so I am sure we will post more Star pictures next month. Alex of course can't wait for his next visit, Mom and Dad on the other hand were very happy to return Star to school and would prefer he stay there...
The City of Chandler has scheduled special Holiday events over the last couple weekends. One of the events we attended was outdoor "ice" skating. Alex and Daddy strapped on their skates and skated on a waxed plastic floor. They didn't have skates small enough for Rory, so we just watched. Good thing too. It looks pretty difficult! Can you imagine skating on plastic?
This year we spent a nice Thanksgiving at home with no travel or the craziness that goes along with taking two small kids to someone's house. Since we had a little extra time on our hands we took the kids to their first movie, Bolt. Alex and Rory both loved the popcorn and the movie, although Rory got a little sleepy and had to leave early to nap in the car. Pat and the girls shared an extra large popcorn with two extra cups so the girls could each hold their own and every last kernel was gone before the movie ended. The girls would refill their cups every time there was only half left. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen.
So that is just about it for us in November, but don't you worry, we will have plenty of Christmas stories to report next month!
