Happy Fall

Fall is finally here in Texas.  Well, maybe I should really say on occasion it feels like fall and other days it ranges from summer temps of mid 80's to winter temps of low 30's.  I wonder how long we will live here before we are adjusted to the extreme weather conditions.  Although it probably is even a bigger adjustment after moving from AZ where there is very little weather change from day to day.  :)

We started our fall fun by celebrating Alex's birthday.  We didn't have a party this year, but she did have a great birthday and has loved all of her presents.  We are still trying to figure out how to display all of her Legos as the collection keeps growing and growing!

Rory and I had a great time visiting an old fashion kids play farm.  Rory practiced washing clothes and grinding corn like kids would have done in the early 1900's.  It was really a fun experience.   Rory especially enjoyed the Dunce cap.  Go figure.  :)

October was an exciting month in our house with the addition of our new puppy, Ellie, multiple visits to pumpkin patches and a visit from Grandma Elizabeth!
We decided a couple months ago that we wanted to add another dog to our house, but this time rather than have a puppy we wanted to adopt a dog from the Lab Rescue.  I completed our application and told them that we would wait until after the holiday's to adopt and then we met Ellie and couldn't help but to bring her home.  She is a huge 8 month old lab and so sweet.  Alex and El have really bonded and have so much fun playing together.   El has so much energy and loves to play, play, play!

Here are some pictures of other various things we did in October.  :)
The girls found a snake on our walk and had to pick it up and play with it.

Alex's Class Field Trip

We had our very first visit from the tooth fairy, twice this month!  Alex has lost her two bottom middle teeth.  :)

Alex received an award at school for being an outstanding student.  We are so proud of her for her hard work and for getting up on stage in front of her school!

Halloween brought lots of fun for all!  We started our Halloween fun with a Trunk or Treat party with our MOMS club.  The girls loved getting an opportunity to wear their costumes early and seeing many of their friends dressed up too.

Grandma Elizabeth also made a special visit to Dallas to spend Halloween with us and boy did we keep her busy!  A trip to the Arboretum to see the pumpkin exhibit, the Heard Museum to see the Dinosaurs, the pumpkin patch for pumpkin picking and a hayride and of couse Trick-or-Treating!

Wishing for a fairytale...

And our sweet little Ellie graduated from puppy school, with Alex as her lead trainer.  Aren't they the cutest??

Happy November Everyone!  Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving,
Love,
